■What is the IT introduction subsidy?
The IT introduction subsidy is a subsidy program designed to support the introduction of IT tools (software, services, etc.) to enhance operational efficiency and promote DX for small and medium-sized enterprises and small-scale businesses. The government is supporting the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises by subsidizing a portion of the expenses required for implementing IT tools. The main objectives of this subsidy are as follows:
1)Improving labor productivity for small and medium-sized enterprises and small-scale businesses.
2)Promoting business efficiency and digital transformation (DX).
3)Supporting the introduction of IT tools (software, services, etc.).
The IT introduction subsidy program, which began in 2017, has now entered its eighth year as of 2024. As small and medium-sized enterprises continue to advance their IT adoption and digital transformation (DX) efforts, there may be considerations for reviewing the budget and other aspects of the IT introduction subsidy program.
If a company is interested in boosting operational efficiency and driving digital transformation, starting now with the IT introduction subsidy program might be beneficial.
■Enterprises eligible for the subsidy
Eligible enterprises for the IT introduction subsidy 2024 include small and medium-sized enterprises and small-scale businesses that are registered as corporations in Japan and have been conducting business domestically for at least one year (submission of one year of tax certificates is mandatory).
Eligible enterprises range from manufacturing, construction, and transportation industries to retail, customer service, accommodation, and F&B service industries, with eligibility determined based on organizational size. If engaged in the temporary staffing/job placement industry, which frequently utilizes our services and is categorized under the service industry, usage of our services is possible if capital is below 50 million yen or if full-time employees number is less than 100. However, if the primary business operates in a different sector, eligibility will be based on that sector.
